When I did the site re-design, I mentioned that I wanted to start writing about more of my side-adventures and not just sewing. I’ve been thinking about where to start for a couple of weeks, since the Mr. and I travel a lot. We’ve made it our life goal to visit all of the National Parks, and go on a couple of camping trips every summer. We once spent 3 months living in our tent and traveling all over the US. I’d like to go back and document that, mostly so I have a better record of what we’ve seen and haven’t. But, it just didn’t seem like the right place to start.
I woke up this morning and realized that I’ll be getting married in exactly 3 months. It seems like as good a time as any to share some of my engagement photos, which we took at the Morton Arboretum.
The Morton Arboretum is kind of hard to categorize. If you’ve never visited an Arboretum, think of a botanical garden. Now, imagine that the collections aren’t flowers; they’re trees. That’s the Morton Arboretum. It’s an enormous property that you have to drive through to see all of. Kind of like a huge outdoor museum with exhibits on trees.
The “exhibits” range from prairie grasses to dense forests. Some areas are open and sunny, while others are shaded and cool. We took advantage of both, and ended up with some gorgeous photos. Plus, we got to go play in the woods.
Three months from now, we’ll go play in the woods again. Next time, though, I’ll get to wear a much prettier dress.
