I started sewing when I was a little girl. I was that weird kid that flipped through a catalogue looking for a birthday present, and said “Can I have a sewing machine?” I taught myself from there. I made doll clothes and hemmed pants throughout elementary school and college and started making actual clothes for myself about 5 years ago.
I was taught to knit by my eight-year-old cousin when I was twelve. She stopped knitting after she finished a baby blanket for our other cousin, and I continued learning more and getting better. About 10 years later, I taught her how to knit again, which was one of the coolest gifts I could give her. I’m all about that full-circle teaching and learning!
I have made it my life’s mission to visit all of America’s National Parks. After college, my fiancee and I spent 3 months living in a tent and our Honda and visiting a large chunk of them. I kept a personal blog then, and I plan to continue on blogging about it here.
Together, we’ve lived in a lot of places. I’m from New Jersey, moved to NYC after college, and now call Chicago home. I guess we have a thing for big cities.
